The B2B Store allows you to add freight (shipping) charges to customer orders during checkout. You can configure flexible freight rates based on customer location, order value, and the Sell Price Tier assigned to each customer in Unleashed. This ensures you can accurately recover shipping costs while providing competitive rates to your customers.
How freight charging works
The freight system operates on two key components:
Shipping Zones β Groups of countries with the same shipping rates.
Shipping Rates β The actual charges applied to orders based on zone and order value.
When customers check out, the system automatically identifies their shipping zone based on their delivery country and applies the appropriate freight charges according to your configured rates.
Prerequisites
Before enabling freight charges, you must:
Create at least one Shipping Zone.
Define Shipping Rates for each zone.
Configure rates for all countries where you deliver products.
Important: Customers cannot place orders if their delivery destination is not assigned to a zone with configured rates. Make sure all countries you service are included in your zone setup.
Set Up Shipping Zones
To manage Shipping Zones in your B2B Store's freight settings:
Log in to your B2B Store as the B2B Store Administrator.
Navigate to Settings > Orders > Freight.
Configure your zones and rates before enabling freight.
Shipping zones group countries that share the same shipping rates. This simplifies your freight management by allowing you to apply one rate configuration to multiple countries.
Example: If shipping costs are identical for Australia and New Zealand, create a single zone containing both countries rather than managing them separately.
π€ Tip: For local-only businesses, create one zone containing only your country and its regions or states.
Create a Shipping Zone
In the B2B Store's Settings > Orders > Freight page, locate the "New zone name" field.
Enter a descriptive name, e.g., "Domestic," "Europe," "Asia-Pacific".
Click the Create zone button.
Add countries to a Zone
Under the Zone Name, click the action cog icon.
Select Edit Countries.
Check the boxes for all countries you want to include in this zone.
Click Save Changes.
The selected countries will now display under your zone name.
Create an International Zone for the remaining countries
If you ship to additional countries beyond your primary zones:
Create a new zone with a name like "International" or "Rest of World".
Click the action cog and select Edit Countries.
Check the Rest of the World option at the top of the country list.
Click Save Changes.
This automatically assigns all unassigned countries to this zone.
Configure Shipping Rates
Each shipping zone can have up to two types of rates:
Flat Rate β A standard charge applied to all orders.
Freight Over Order Value β A rate that applies when orders exceed a specific value.
Create a Flat Rate
In the B2B Store, under your Shipping Zone, enter a rate name in the field box, e.g., "Standard Shipping".
Click Create Flat Rate.
Click the edit (pencil) icon to configure prices.
π€ Tip: Use customer-friendly rate names like "Standard Shipping" or "Express Delivery" as these display on customer's B2B orders.
Configure a Flat Rate by Sell Price Tier
The B2B Store's freight settings allow you to set different flat rates for each Sell Price Tier defined in Unleashed:
In the B2B Store's Shipping Zone, click on the rate's edit icon.
In the Sell Price Tier panel, click edit for each tier.
Enter the shipping rate for that tier (default is 0.00 - Free).
Save your changes.
Important: Configure the "Default Sell Price Tier" to define the rate for customers not assigned to any specific tier in Unleashed.
Example Configuration:
Retail Customers (Default Tier): 15.00
Wholesale Tier: 25.00
Large Company Tier: 60.00
Configure a Freight Over Order Value
This rule allows you to offer different freight rates, such as free shipping, based on the B2B Order's total order value, excluding tax and freight:
In the B2B Store's Shipping Zone, click on the rate's edit icon.
Click the + (plus symbol) to add a new freight condition.
Enter a descriptive name, e.g., "Free Shipping Over 500".
Click Create Rate.
Click the edit icon to configure thresholds and their freight rates.
Example β Free Shipping Over 500:
For each Price Tier, set:
Threshold: 500.00
Price: 0.00 (Free)
This means orders over $500 receive free shipping, while orders under $500 pay the flat rate, based on the customer's currency.
Shipping Rate scenarios
You can use both flat rate and order value rules simultaneously for flexible freight charging.
Scenario: Combining Flat Rate and Order Value rules
You charge a flat rate of $60 for Large Company customers, but orders over $2,000 require additional freight due to volume.
βConfiguration:
Flat Rate: $60.00 (applies to all orders)
Freight Over Order Value: Threshold $2,000, Rate $120.00
Result: Orders under $2,000 pay $60; orders over $2,000 pay $120.
Scenario: Selective application of Order Value rules
If certain Price Tiers should always pay the flat rate regardless of order value, toggle the Freight Over Order Value rule OFF for those specific tiers. Only the flat rate will apply to those customers.
Free Shipping
To provide free shipping for specific customers or order values:
Set the shipping rate to 0.00 when configuring rates.
The system displays a "Free" badge indicating no freight charges will apply.
This appears on both the flat rate and order value configurations.
Enabling Freight Charges
To start charging freight on your B2B Orders, after configuring all zones and rates in your store's settings:
Go to the B2B Store's Settings > Orders > Freight.
Locate Add Freight to Checkout and toggle it to ON.
Click Save Changes.
Freight charges will now be calculated and displayed during customer checkout.
Add Tax to Freight charges
To apply tax to freight:
Go to the B2B Store's Settings > Orders > Freight.
Toggle Add Freight Tax to ON.
Save your changes.
How Tax applies to B2B Store freight charges
The B2B Store first applies the customer's default tax rate to freight.
If the customer has no tax rate set, your account's default tax rate applies.
If the company tax rate is 0% (No Tax), no tax is charged on freight.
For more details on managing your account and customer's default tax rates, see Taxes.

In the B2B Store, the customer creates their order and selects "Proceed to Order" to place it.

Customer's Sell Price Tier
Order value
Configured zone rates
Freight charges are displayed as a sub-total value in the Order.

Managing Delivery Days

In the B2B Store, navigate to Settings > Freight > Delivery days.

Save your changes.
Blocked days become unavailable for selection in the "Required Date" field during checkout.

Go to Settings > Freight > Custom No-delivery periods.
Select a date or date range when deliveries are unavailable.
Click Add.

Examples: "Standard Shipping," "Express Delivery," "Free Shipping Over $500".
Avoid internal codes or abbreviations.
Testing Configuration
Before going live:
Place test orders from different countries.
Verify correct freight charges for each Price Tier.
