Each entry below shows the exact wording you'll see in the Connection Log, followed by the cause and the steps to resolve it. Search this article for a phrase from your error message to find the matching entry.
⚠️ Important: Orders that fail to import don't automatically retry once you've fixed the error. You need to manually re-import them. See Import missing orders from Shopify for steps.
Product sync errors
Error: 'Failed to export Unleashed Product [0] to Shopify. Error: [1]'
Cause: The export to Shopify failed. The second part of the message ([1]) gives the underlying Shopify cause, such as an invalid price or a missing SKU.
Solution:
Read the appended error to identify the affected field.
Fix the field on the Unleashed product.
Go to the eCommerce Hub, click Manage Your Data, then re-run the export.
Error: 'Product import for variant [0]([1]) is skipped. Error: [2]'
Cause: A single variant was skipped during import. The wrapped message ([2]) is usually an empty SKU, a duplicate SKU, or the Create Missing Products setting being off.
Solution: Fix the SKU in Shopify, or remap the product, then re-import.
Error: 'SKU for Shopify Product Variant ([0]) is empty.'
Cause: The Shopify product variant has no SKU.
Solution:
In Shopify, edit the product variant and add a SKU, then re-import.
Alternatively, click Manage Your Products in the eCommerce Hub to remap products with blank SKUs.
Error: 'Skipped import due to duplicate SKU found for Shopify Product Variant ([0]).'
Cause: Two Shopify variants use the same product code as an existing Unleashed product.
Solution:
In Shopify, make the SKU unique, or use Manage Your Products in the eCommerce Hub to correct the mapping.
Re-import the order.
Error: 'Could not create Shopify Product Variant [0] in Unleashed, setting Create Missing Products in Unleashed is off.'
Cause: The variant has no matching Unleashed product, and the setting that auto-creates new products is disabled.
Solution:
In the eCommerce Hub Shopify configuration, enable Create Missing Products In Unleashed.
Re-import the order, or manually create the product in Unleashed.
Error: 'Sku [0] has already existed in Unleashed. Skipped sku updating.'
Cause: Something tried to change a product code to a SKU that's already used by another Unleashed product.
Solution: Resolve the duplicate SKU in Shopify or Unleashed so that every code is unique, then re-import.
Error: 'Product [0][1] not found in Shopify.' or 'Could not find corresponding Unleashed Product [0][1] in Shopify.'
Cause: The product referenced no longer exists in Shopify, or the mapping is outdated.
Solution: Confirm the product still exists in Shopify. If it was intentionally removed, remap or re-create it, then re-run the sync.
Error: 'Tried to delete Product [0] in Shopify but could not be found.'
Cause: Unleashed tried to delete a product that's already been removed from Shopify.
Solution: No action is usually needed. If the mapping persists, remap the product using Manage Your Products.
Error: 'Shop product mapping Failed.'
Cause: Saving a product mapping failed.
Solution:
Retry the save in the Manage Your Products tab.
If the error persists, refresh the Shopify connection first, then try again.
Stock on Hand export errors
Error: 'Stock export for product [0] has failed' or 'Stock export has failed'
Cause: The Stock on Hand (SOH) update to Shopify failed. This usually means the product or inventory item wasn't found, or Shopify's API returned an error.
Solution:
Verify the product is mapped and exists in Shopify.
Go to Manage Your Data and re-run the SOH export.
Error: 'Unable to export Stock on Hand (Store [0] is not setup properly or has SOH sync turned off).'
Cause: The store is inactive, SOH sync is turned off, or no stock warehouse is mapped.
Solution: In the eCommerce Hub Shopify configuration, activate the store, enable SOH sync, and map at least one stock warehouse, then retry.
Error: 'Stock On Hand update could not send to Shopify Store [0] due to the store being closed, please review and retry.'
Cause: The store is inactive or closed.
Solution: Reactivate the store in the eCommerce Hub Shopify configuration, then retry the SOH export.
Error: 'Stock On Hand update could not send because the Shopify Integration feature is disabled.'
Cause: The Shopify integration feature isn't enabled on your subscription.
Solution: Enable the Shopify integration feature in your plan settings, then retry.
Order import errors
Error: 'Sales order [0] already exists.'
Cause: The order has already been imported.
Solution: No action needed. This message confirms Unleashed is preventing a duplicate import.
Error: 'Order [0] not found in Shopify.'
Cause: The order referenced no longer exists in Shopify. This is usually because it was deleted or cancelled.
Solution: Confirm the order's status in Shopify admin. If it's still valid, retry the import once it's available.
Error: 'Unrecognized currency [0].'
Cause: The order's currency doesn't exist in Unleashed.
Solution:
Go to Currency Settings in Unleashed.
Add the missing currency and set an exchange rate.
Re-import the order.
Error: 'No customer attached to the Order.'
Cause: The order has no customer attached, and your import settings aren't configured to use a single default customer.
Solution: Either add a customer to the order in Shopify, or in the eCommerce Hub, set the customer import option to use a single default customer.
Error: 'Order name ([0]) should not be longer than 20 characters.'
Cause: The combined order prefix and Shopify order number is longer than 20 characters.
Solution: In the eCommerce Hub Shopify configuration, shorten the Shop Prefix (Order Prefix), then re-import.
Error: 'Failed to import product SKU [0].'
Cause: A line item's product couldn't be resolved or imported.
Solution: Fix the SKU or mapping for that product in Shopify or Unleashed, then re-import the order.
Error: 'Shopify Order Status mapping is not the same as the settings in the configuration page.'
Cause: The Shopify order's fulfilment status doesn't match your configured import status.
Solution: In the eCommerce Hub Shopify configuration, align the Unleashed Order Status setting with the Shopify order status, then re-import.
Error: 'Order [0] failed to complete because partially fulfilled was the selected import status.'
Cause: An order set to import as Completed was only partially fulfilled, so Unleashed placed it as Backordered instead.
Solution: This message is informational and needs no action. If you want different behaviour, change the import status in the configuration.
Error: 'Customer [0] exists in Unleashed with [1] currency but order is with [2] currency.'
Cause: The order's currency doesn't match the currency already set on the customer record.
Solution: Use a customer record with the matching currency, or align the customer's currency to the order. A customer's currency can't change once transactions exist, so you may need a separate customer record for each currency.
Error: 'Shopify Order [0] is assigned to [1] instead of [2] because [2] is obsoleted.'
Cause: This is informational. The mapped warehouse is obsolete, so Unleashed used the default warehouse instead.
Solution: In Unleashed, reactivate the warehouse, or update the warehouse mapping in the eCommerce Hub.
Error: 'Order [0] ... but [1] could not be used as a Delivery Method or Shipping Company as it is Obsoleted.'
Cause: The order imported successfully, but the mapped delivery method or shipping company is obsolete.
Solution: In Unleashed, reactivate the delivery method or shipping company, or create an active one. Future imports will apply it automatically.
Error: 'Delivery Method [0] name is more than 50 characters.'
Cause: The Shopify shipping line title is too long.
Solution: In Shopify, shorten the shipping method name, then re-import.
Error: 'Sales order [[0]] tracking number [[1]] truncated to comply with 50 character limit.'
Cause: This is informational. The tracking number was longer than 50 characters, so Unleashed shortened it.
Solution: No action is needed unless you require the full value. If so, shorten it at source in Shopify.
Customer import errors
Error: 'Customer [0] [1] import is skipped. Error: [2]'
Cause: A customer record was skipped. The wrapped message ([2]) gives the specific validation issue.
Solution: Fix the customer's data in Shopify, then re-import from Manage Your Data.
Error: 'Something went wrong while trying to retrieve Customers from Shopify.'
Cause: A general failure occurred when calling Shopify's customer API. This is often caused by an authorisation issue or a temporary connection problem.
Solution: Click Refresh Connection in the eCommerce Hub to reauthorise the integration, then retry.
Fulfilment and shipment errors
Error: 'Fulfilment [0] already exists.'
Cause: Unleashed is preventing a duplicate fulfilment record.
Solution: No action needed.
Error: 'Could not find an Unleashed sales order that associates with fulfilment [0].'
Cause: The parent sales order for this fulfilment hasn't been imported.
Solution: Import the order first, then retry the fulfilment.
Error: 'Unable to create Shipment ([0]) for [1] due to [2] having a higher shipment quantity than the original order.'
Cause: The fulfilment quantity in Shopify is greater than the order quantity in Unleashed.
Solution: Reconcile the quantities on the order in Unleashed and Shopify so they match, then retry.
Error: 'Failed to update fulfilment [0], because it is not found in Shopify.'
Cause: The fulfilment you're trying to update no longer exists in Shopify.
Solution: Confirm the fulfilment's status in Shopify. If it's been removed, no update is possible.
Error: 'Fulfillment orders not found in Shopify for order [0].'
Cause: Shopify has no open fulfilment orders for this order. This usually means the order is already fully fulfilled or has been cancelled.
Solution: Verify the order's fulfilment status in Shopify.
Error: 'Failed to create/update a fulfillment in Shopify for Unleashed shipment [0].'
Cause: The call to Shopify's API failed.
Solution:
Click Refresh Connection to check connectivity and permissions.
Verify the order is fulfillable in Shopify.
Re-dispatch or re-sync the shipment.
Error: 'Shipment not found.'
Cause: The referenced shipment doesn't exist in Unleashed.
Solution: Verify the shipment still exists. If it's been deleted, no action is needed.
Error: 'Unable to fulfil Shipment [0] lines in Shopify, due to Shopify fulfillable quantity is zero or less than shipment quantity.'
Cause: The order line in Shopify has no remaining fulfillable quantity.
Solution: Check the order in Shopify. It may already be fulfilled, or the quantities may differ. Reconcile the quantities, then retry.
Error: 'Unable to create Shipment [0] because the sales order [1] is [2] in Unleashed.'
Cause: The order's status in Unleashed, for example Completed or Deleted, is blocking shipment creation.
Solution: No further action is available for orders in this status.
Error: 'Unable to dispatch Shipment [0] because [1].'
Cause: The dispatch failed. The message ([1]) gives the reason, often insufficient stock or allocation.
Solution: Resolve the stated cause in Unleashed, for example by adding stock, then re-dispatch the shipment.
Refund and credit note errors
Error: 'Free Credit Note [0] was not created because these product(s), [[1]] are not mapped to Unleashed.'
Cause: One or more refund line products aren't mapped to Unleashed.
Solution: Map the listed products by importing them or using Manage Your Products, then the refund can process.
Error: 'Unleashed does not support Refunds that has a different currency than Unleashed Base Currency.'
Cause: Multi-currency refunds aren't supported. The refund currency differs from the Free Credit Customer's currency.
Solution: Set the Free Credit Customer in the Shopify configuration to one whose currency matches, or process the credit manually in Unleashed.
Error: 'Free Credit [0] creation failed because the restock came as a $0 value transaction.'
Cause: The refund had no monetary transaction, for example, a restock only.
Solution: No credit is created by design. Handle the restock or credit manually in Unleashed if required.
Error: 'Unable to create/complete Refund [0] because [1].'
Cause: Credit creation or completion failed. The message ([1]) gives the specific cause, for example an invalid credit note or warehouse.
Solution: In the configuration, check that the Free Credit Customer, Free Credit Status, and warehouse are all valid. Resolve the stated cause, then retry.
Integration status errors
Error: '[0] task cannot be run when Shopify Integration is not Active. Please Activate the integration via the configuration settings and try again.'
Cause: The Shopify integration is deactivated.
Solution: Activate the Shopify integration in the eCommerce Hub configuration, then re-run the task.
Error: '[0] task cannot be run when Shopify Store [1] is closed or the Shopify Integration feature is disabled. Please review and retry.'
Cause: The specific store is closed, or the Shopify feature is disabled on your plan.
Solution: Reopen or activate the store, enable the Shopify feature if required, then retry.
