What are min and max stock limits?

Written by Heather

In Unleashed, each product will have a min and max limit for each warehouse. If the available stock is outside of this quantity, then it will display a stock alert. In AIM, the rate of demand and your strategy for how many days of stock you want to hold will determine the min and max stock limit. For example, if you sell 28 units a month of a product, and you want to hold 1-4 weeks of stock, then AIM will update the min limit to 7 units and the max limit to 28. This is intended to be used with the Reorder Report to help trigger replenishments when the low limit is reached.

Set Min/Max Stock Levels for a Product Group

To set Min/Max stock levels for a product group using the Modelling tab, follow these steps:

  1. Filter the Modelling List: Navigate to the Modelling tab and filter the list to your desired group or sub-group of products.

  2. Set Required Inputs: Input necessary details, such as supplier lead days, if using the Just-in-Time strategy.

  3. Choose a Strategy:

    • Just-in-Time: Recommended for calculating Min/Max values based on lead days and buffer stock.

    • Manual: Allows you to enter fixed Min/Max values.

    • Stock Days: Targets a specific number of stock days.

  4. Calculate and Submit: Click on 'Calculate' to review the results. Once satisfied, click 'Submit' to save the Min/Max values for the filtered products.

Edit or remove Min/Max Stock Levels

To edit or remove Min/Max stock levels for a specific product:

  1. Go to the product page in Unleashed.

  2. Open the Inventory tab.

  3. Click into the Min/Max Values section.

  4. Make the necessary edits or remove the values as required.

If you update Min/Max stock levels in Unleashed, these changes will automatically reflect in AIM. This ensures that your stock control data remains synchronized across systems.
