Understanding the limitation

Unleashed Warehouse Management integrates with Unleashed to help you manage inventory across your warehouse operations. Currently, when a product is assigned to multiple locations in Unleashed Warehouse Management, creating a stock transfer in Unleashed creates a tracking challenge.

The issue occurs because Unleashed Warehouse Management cannot identify the specific warehouse location from which the stock transfer originated when the same product exists in multiple Unleashed Warehouse Management locations. While the transfer will complete successfully in Unleashed, the inventory movement won't be accurately reflected in Unleashed Warehouse Management, potentially causing discrepancies between your systems.

What to avoid

To maintain accurate inventory records, avoid the following actions:

  • Creating stock transfers in Unleashed for products that are assigned to any locations in Unleashed Warehouse Management, even a single location assignment, causes tracking issues. The system cannot track which Unleashed Warehouse Management location the inventory is moving from, causing inventory mismatches.

  • Transferring stock in Unleashed when you're unsure of a product's location assignments in Unleashed Warehouse Management.

These actions may result in inventory records that don't match between Unleashed and Unleashed Warehouse Management, making it difficult to maintain accurate stock levels across your warehouse.

Recommended approach

To maintain accurate inventory tracking between Unleashed Warehouse Management and Unleashed, follow these guidelines.

For products assigned to any locations

Currently, you should avoid the following actions in Unleashed for products that are assigned to one or more locations in Unleashed Warehouse Management:

  • Stock transfers

  • Stock adjustments

  • Warehouse transfers

  • Stock counts

These transactions cannot identify which specific Unleashed Warehouse Management location they relate to, causing inventory discrepancies between the systems.

For products with no location assignments

You can safely perform all inventory transactions in Unleashed when the product has an Unassigned status in Unleashed Warehouse Management (not assigned to any specific location). In this case, the system can accurately track and sync the inventory movement between Unleashed and Unleashed Warehouse Management.

πŸ€“ Tip: Before creating stock transfers in Unleashed, check the product's location assignments in Unleashed Warehouse Management. This helps you determine whether it's safe to proceed with the transfer.

Maintaining accuracy

To keep your inventory records accurate across both systems:

  • Review your products' location assignments in Unleashed Warehouse Management regularly.

  • Only create stock transfers in Unleashed for products that have not been assigned to any locations in Unleashed Warehouse Management.

  • Keep detailed records of any inventory movements for products assigned to UWM locations.
