Before you can start picking orders in the Warehouse Management app, you need to configure two settings: your picking source, which controls how orders are imported from Unleashed, and your picking mode, which controls how pickers work through those orders in the app.
Picking source
The Warehouse Management app supports two picking sources:
Sales Order: Each Sales Order in Unleashed is imported as a single picking task in the Warehouse Management app.
Sales Shipment: Each Sales Shipment in Unleashed is imported as its own picking task, allowing a single Sales Order to be split into multiple shipments and fulfilled separately.
You can only use one picking source at a time. Once configured, orders will sync automatically. You do not need to return to this setting unless you want to switch your picking source.
Which picking source should I use?
The right picking source depends on the size of your orders and whether you need to ship in stages.
Sales Order picking works well when your orders are small and ship in full. Each Sales Order becomes a single picking task, and the workflow is straightforward: pick everything, pack, dispatch.
Sales Shipment picking is better suited to larger orders, or when you can't always fulfil an entire order at once. Because a Sales Order can be split into multiple Sales Shipments in Unleashed, each shipment becomes its own picking task. This means:
Smaller, faster pick tasks: Instead of working through 50 line items in one go, pickers work through a focused subset per shipment
Ship what's ready now: If only some items are in stock, create a shipment for those items and pick and dispatch it immediately, without waiting for the full order to be available
Parallel picking: Multiple pickers can work on different shipments from the same Sales Order at the same time
No blocked orders: Because each shipment only contains items you've confirmed are available, shipments won't be blocked by insufficient stock in the way a Sales Order can be
| Sales Order picking | Sales Shipment picking |
Best for | Small orders that ship in full. | Large orders or partial fulfilment. |
Pick task size | Entire Sales Order. | One shipment at a time. |
Partial fulfilment | Not supported; full stock required. | Ship available items now, remainder later. |
Parallel picking | Not supported. | Multiple pickers per order. |
Blocked by stock issues | Yes, one missing item blocks the whole order. | Rarely, shipments are created from available stock. |
đ Note: Sales Shipment picking requires Order Management to be enabled in Unleashed (Settings > Company). If Order Management is off, Sales Orders are your only available picking source.
Configure your picking source
â ď¸ Important: You must complete this step before any Sales Orders will sync to the Warehouse Management app.
In Access Evo, go to Warehouse Management.
Navigate to the Settings page.
A banner reading 'Orders Not Synced' will appear; click Import Orders.
In the pop-up window, select either:
Import from Sales Order.
Import from Sales Shipment.
Click Confirm and Start Sync.
The sync runs in the background and your orders will appear in the picking queue once the sync is complete.
Switch your picking source
You can switch your picking source at any time from the Settings page in Warehouse Management, but you must complete or delete all existing orders first.
In Access Evo, go to Warehouse Management.
Go to the Settings page.
Click the toggle between Sales Order and Sales Shipment to select your picking source.
In the confirmation window, click Confirm & Sync.
If there are incomplete orders, the Warehouse Management page will display a 'Cannot Switch Modes' message listing the orders that need to be resolved first. This prevents the same items from being imported twice.
đNote: You are only required to complete or delete Sales Orders currently in a "Placed" status before switching the picking source. Unleashed Sales Orders in other statuses, such as Parked or custom statuses, will not sync and are not affected.
Picking mode
Once your orders are syncing, you can configure how pickers work through them in the app by selecting a picking mode. The Warehouse Management app supports guided picking, which directs pickers from one product to the next, in sequence. Unguided picking with quantity tracking lets pickers work through items in any order they choose while manually tracking quantities as they go.
Unguided Picking works like standard picking, but with a more flexible workflow. Pickers are not directed to pick in any enforced sequence; they can start with any product and move through the pick in whatever order works best for the warehouse layout.
Configure your picking mode
An administrator must configure the picking mode before it can be used:
In the Warehouse Management app, open Warehouse Settings.
In Picking Mode, select:
Guided Picking.
Unguided Picking.
Click Save.

Pick an order using Unguided Picking
Once Unguided Picking is configured, pickers can select and work through orders in the app with no enforced sequence.
â
Step 1: Select an Order to pick
In the Warehouse Management app, select Pick from the main menu.
Select an order from one of the following tabs:
New: Orders that have not been started.
In Progress: Orders that have been started, partially picked, or paused.
Click any order from the New or In Progress tab to open its Order Details screen.
The Order Details screen displays the order number, pick status, a progress bar that tracks how many items have been picked overall, and the full list of products to pick.
Each product line on the Order Details screen shows:
Product name
Product Code (SKU).
Warehouse Location.
Quantity required versus quantity already picked, for example, "0/5".
A status indicator:
Grey: Not yet started
Orange: Partially picked
Teal: Fully picked

Step 2: Pick a quantity, confirm, and complete the pick for a product
From the Order Details screen, select any product to confirm and complete the quantity picked. There is no enforced picking sequence when Unguided Picking is enabled; pick items in whatever order suits your warehouse layout or workflow.
đ Note: For detailed steps on confirming and completing a pick quantity for a product, see Picking with the Warehouse Management app.
