Multi-bin picking lets you pick stock for an order from more than one bin location when a product is held across multiple locations in your warehouse. You can switch the entire pick to a different location or split the required quantity across several locations. This works for both standard and batch-tracked products, and no additional configuration is needed.

Prerequisites

  • The product must be available in more than one bin location for multi-bin picking options to appear.

  • Multi-bin picking is available for standard and batch-tracked products.

  • No configuration is required; alternative locations appear automatically on the pick screen.

The Warehouse Management module and app are Access products, available exclusively to Access Evo customers with an Unleashed Core or Pro subscription.

Switch picking to a different location

Use this option when you want to pick the full quantity from a different location instead of the assigned one.

  1. In the Warehouse Management app, open an order and select a product to pick.

  2. On the pick screen, tap the location card. A '+N more' indicator appears if the product is available in other locations.

  3. Click the '+N more' indicator to open the location panel.

  4. Select the location you want to switch to.

  5. Click Switch location.

  6. Confirm the pick.

πŸ“Œ Note: If the selected location has less stock than the required quantity, the app automatically adjusts the pick quantity down to what is available.

Split a pick across multiple locations

Use this option when no single location has enough stock to fulfil the full quantity required.

  1. In the Warehouse Management app, open an order and select a product to pick.

  2. On the pick screen, tap the location card, then tap the '+N more' indicator.

  3. Select an alternative location from the panel.

  4. Click Split across locations.

  5. Enter how many units to pick from that location.

  6. To add more locations, select the '+N more' indicator again and repeat.

  7. Confirm the pick when the total quantity is met.

Each split can be removed individually using the cancel button on that row. The app prevents you from exceeding the available stock or the total order quantity.

Pick batch-tracked products from multiple locations

Multi-bin picking works for batch-tracked products, with location visibility scoped to each batch:

  • Each batch has its own location card on the pick screen.

  • You can switch or split independently for each batch.

  • The app only shows locations where that specific batch is held.

Pause an order mid-pick

If you pause an order while a switch or split is in progress, the app automatically saves your selections. No work is lost when you return to the order.
