What is Packing?
Packing allows warehouse staff to verify that picked orders contain the correct items before shipment. After items have been picked and the order status in Warehouse Management is set to "Picked", the order becomes available in your packing queue. You can verify products by scanning barcodes or manually checking items off the list, and the app provides real-time visual feedback as you work.
The feature uses a scan-based workflow where you verify each item in the order. As you scan or tap items, the app marks them as packed with visual confirmation and updates your progress automatically. Once all items are verified, you complete the pack, and the order status updates accordingly.
Why use Packing?
Verify orders accurately: Ensure the correct items are included in each package through barcode verification, reducing shipping errors.
Get instant feedback: Colour-coded cards with animations confirm successful scans and alert you to errors immediately.
Track your progress: A visual progress bar and item count show you exactly how much of the order is complete.
Choose your method: Scan barcodes for speed or tap product cards manually when scanning isn't practical.
Update status automatically: Completed packs update order status in Warehouse Management without manual data entry.
Prerequisites
Ensure your Unleashed Warehouse Management App is connected to Access Evo Warehouse Management.
Orders must be picked and have status "Picked" before they appear in the Packing queue.
Product barcodes should match the SKUs in your order for barcode scanning to work correctly.
Viewing and selecting orders
When you open the Packing feature from the mobile home screen, the app displays a list of all orders ready for packing. Each order card shows:
Order number
Item count
The list includes only orders with status "Picked". Orders still being picked or already packed, or dispatched are excluded from the queue.
Finding a specific order
If you have many orders waiting, you can search by order number and the list filters as you type. Once you locate the correct order, tap on the order card to begin packing. This opens the Pack Order screen, showing the list of products that need to be verified.
Packing products
After selecting an order, you'll see a list of all items that need to be packed. You have two ways to verify items:
Barcode scanning
Manual verification
Barcode scanning
Tap the "Scan Product Barcode" button to begin scanning items. When you scan a product correctly:
The product card flashes green with a checkmark.
Progress updates automatically.
The scanner remains ready for the next item.
If you scan a barcode that doesn't match any SKU in the order:
A red error message appears: "Product not found in this order"
The error dismisses automatically after 2 seconds
Your progress is not affected
The scanner remains ready for you to try again
Manual verification
Instead of scanning, you can tap directly on any unpacked product card to mark it as packed. The card turns green with a checkmark, and your progress updates automatically.
This method is useful when barcodes are damaged, obscured, or when you need to verify items quickly without scanning each one.
π€ Tip: You can switch between scanning and manual verification at any time while packing an order. Use whichever method works best for each item.
Complete and dispatch the order
When you've verified all items in the order, tap "Pack Complete" at the bottom of the screen; the order status updates to "Packed".
After completing the pack, you have the option to set the order status to "Dispatched". If you select this status:
The sales order in Unleashed updates to "Completed" status, completing any outstanding invoices.
The order is marked as shipped in your fulfilment workflow.
If you leave the status as "Packed", Unleashed is not updated, and the order remains in a packed but not dispatched state.
After completion, you return to the order list where you can select the next order to pack.
Important limitations
Single-order workflow: You can only pack one order at a time. You must complete the current order before starting another.
Individual item verification: Each item quantity must be verified individually. Batch scanning multiple quantities at once is not currently supported.
No packing notes: You cannot add special instructions or notes during the packing process.
No photo verification: The app does not support capturing images of packed items for reference.
No weight verification: The app does not integrate with scales for weight confirmation.
Browser data dependency: Pack status is stored in your browser's local storage. If you clear your browser data, packing progress will be reset.
Network required: The app requires an active connection to function. Offline packing is not currently supported.
π Note: Complete packing orders in a single session when possible. If you need to switch devices or clear browser data, your packing progress may be lost and you'll need to start the order again.
