Understanding Never Diminishing Products

A Never Diminishing Product (NDP) is a product flagged in Unleashed as not holding any stock on hand, representing items that do not carry a tangible quantity, for example, services, warranties, or non-stockable virtual goods.

In the Warehouse Management app, NDPs are handled differently from standard stockable products because there is no physical inventory to count, scan into a bin, or put away. Instead, the Warehouse Management app asks operators to acknowledge NDP lines so that nothing is missed before an order or receipt is completed.

No additional configuration is required. The Warehouse Management app automatically detects NDP products based on the never-diminishing flag in Unleashed and adjusts the interface accordingly.

How NDPs appear in each the Warehouse Management app workflow

Picking

NDP lines on sales orders appear in the pick list alongside standard product lines, ensuring pickers are aware of all items on an order, including non-stockable ones.

  • Stock on hand, bin location, and quantity to pick are not shown for NDP lines.

  • Each NDP line displays an Acknowledged button and a Scan Product Barcode button.

  • Selecting either button marks the NDP line as acknowledged. Both actions are equivalent.

πŸ“Œ Note: You cannot complete a pick until all NDP lines have been acknowledged. An inline message is displayed if any NDP lines remain outstanding.

Goods receipt

When a purchase order contains NDP lines, those lines appear alongside standard product lines in the goods receipt flow. Because there is no physical stock to count, the interface is simplified for NDP lines:

  • No quantity stepper, batch number, or expiry date field is shown.

  • Each NDP line displays an Acknowledge button and a Scan Product Barcode button.

  • Selecting either button marks the line as acknowledged.

  • NDP lines are excluded from the units-received count in the progress header.

πŸ“Œ Note: You cannot complete a goods receipt until all NDP lines have been acknowledged. An inline message is displayed if any NDP lines remain outstanding.

Putaway

After a goods receipt that includes NDP lines, the putaway task list is generated without NDP items. Because there is no physical stock to store, NDP lines are automatically excluded.

  • If a receipt contains only NDP lines, the putaway task list will be empty.

  • The putaway flow completes normally with only standard stockable product lines.

Key points

  • No configuration is needed. The Warehouse Management app automatically detects NDP products from the Unleashed product flag.

  • NDPs cannot be completed past or skipped. Goods receipts and picks cannot be finished until all NDP lines are acknowledged.

  • NDP lines are excluded from putaway. Only standard stockable products appear in the putaway task list.

  • Acknowledgement methods are equivalent. Selecting the Acknowledge button or scanning the product barcode both mark the line as complete.
